Winter in Florida is interesting to say the least. I believe Florida is the one state that has major mood swings. Because I live in North Florida one day it feels cool enough to be Fall if we are lucky winter. Then the next day if feels like spring or summer.
Seriously I wanted to go to the beach the other day because it was in the high seventy’s. But I knew it would be cooler at the beach than it was at my house. So, I decided against it and just stayed home. Which was a good thing because it got cooler later in the afternoon.
Choosing what to wear this time of year is pretty difficult. Because some days I can wear shorts and the next I have to wear jeans or leggings. Usually I’m cold in the morning so I start the day wearing jeans or leggings. Then if it’s hotter in the afternoon I’ll change into shorts. But, most of the time I’ll just stay in my jeans or leggings.
Faith loves being outside running around, playing and barking. Dachshunds actually get heat stroke very easily. So during the summer we do limit her outside time. But during the winter she is able to stay outside a little longer than usual. Since most days it is cooler she does love to lay out in the yard and run around. But on the warmer days that randomly show up during the winter we do keep an eye on her, limit her outside time, and make sure she’s drinking a lot of water.
What I love about winter here is that I can actually wear makeup with out feeling like its melting off my face. During the summer I absolutely hate wearing make up. It’s just way to hot and I feel like its melting off the second I’m done putting it on. So the winter time is definitely my favorite time of year to wear makeup.
Florida is a rainy state but during the winter it does actually slow down a bit. During the summer it felt like it was raining every day. So the fact that it does slow down a bit in the winter is a nice change. Since this month is going by so fast and it is almost February. It is going to be raining a lot more very soon so this is a nice little break.
The sunsets here are always amazing and I really love them if you couldn’t tell from my Instagram. But for some reason I think the sunsets during the winter get better. Maybe it’s because it’s cool enough so I can sit outside and watch them. Whatever the reason they are always beautiful and I always love them. Seriously I have so many sunset photos in my phone.
I love living in Florida even though it is very hot nine months out of the year. The winter here is very nice not to hot and not to cold but just perfect. I actually really love the cold so I would want to visit somewhere cold. But I am perfectly content living where I am. So this is what winter is like in the moodiest state and I love it.
