I began bleaching my hair again back in March and I have been doing all I can to make sure it is super healthy and soft. So a little back story on my hair before we get in to my favorite products. I went platinum blonde back in May of 2017 and was platinum blonde to November of 2018. So I was blonde for quite awhile. I’m also a natural brunette just so you know. I was also growing my hair then because I wanted long hair. But in November of 2018 I got tired of the blonde and long hair. So I decided to go back to being a brunette and to chop my hair off. I ended up cutting my hair right above my shoulders which ended up being seven inches cut off.
I loved my brown and short hair and still do love my hair short. But in March of 2019 it was time for another hair cut and a fresh color. So I got my hair cut a little shorter than before and highlighted. So I was blonde again just not platinum blond like I was before. It’s more of a neutral slightly gold toned blonde. But because I obviously bleached my hair again. As we all know bleach damages hair I have been doing everything I can to make sure it stays soft, shiny, and healthy. My hair handles bleach pretty well. It doesn’t break, but stays strong and feels pretty soft and healthy once the process is done. But the girl that does my hair, Rose is amazing and always makes sure my hair is looking good through the whole process. Now on to my favorite hair care products.
If you use heat on your hair then you will always need a heat protector. Whether your hair is bleached or not heat will fry you hair so always use one. There are two heat protectors I love one a little pricier than the other. The pricier one being the its a 10 miracle leave in spray. This one is a little more expensive than the other because it is $18.99 for a 4 oz bottle and $37.99 for a 10 oz bottle. It is a great product and one I still love it I just feel like the price is a little up there for a 4 oz bottle which is the one I usually get. So recently I have been using a different heat protector different brand bigger bottle more product but a decent price. That is the TRESemme Keratin Smooth with Marula Oil 5 benefits 1 system heat protector spray. That was a lot but this product even though it does not have ten benefits like the its a 10 it is still a really good product. Ive been using this one for a few weeks now and have noticed that it makes my hair feel super soft and its only $4.98 for an 8 oz bottle. The 5 benefits of this product are anti frizz, detangles, shine, softness, tames fly aways. I love this spray and it defiantly is a better option when you do not want to spend $20 on a small bottle with less product.
Since I did go blonde but not platinum blonde like before I switched from purple shampoo to blue shampoo. Both shampoos are the same brand, Matrix the total results line which can be found at Ulta. Purple shampoo is good for platinum or grey/ silver hair because it neutralizes the brassy and yellow tones in silver and white toned hair. Where blue shampoo targets orange warm brassy tones for brunettes who are going blonde but not platinum. Because I am not platinum I have been using the blue shampoo and loving it. I don’t use it every time I was my hair but maybe every other time. If my hair starts to look brassy this shampoo definitely takes care of that so easily. Like I said both of these shampoos I buy from Ulta the blue one is the Matrix Total Result Brass Off shampoo and is $26.00 for a 33.8 oz. The purple shampoo is the Matrix Total Results So Silver shampoo and again is $26.00 for a 33.8 oz.
The Shampoo I have been using recently when I do not use my blue shampoo is the. Tresemme Touchable Softness and guys this seriously makes my hair so soft I love it. I’ve used shampoos in the past that have said they make your hair soft, but I don’t think my hair has ever been as soft as it has been with this shampoo except for when I go get my hair done. It is definitely my new favorite.
I usually don’t care what conditioner I use on my hair as long as it makes my hair feel soft. However, this one has become a favorite of mine because it smells like apples. Thats basically the biggest reason why I love it is because I’m a little kid and love that it smells like apples. This conditioner is the Garnier Fructis Grow Strong conditioner. It also makes my hair soft and detangles it but again it smells like apples and thats the best part.
The next and last product is something I bought randomly because I thought it looked cool. That is the Smoothing Liquid Pearl Luminescent Serum By OGX. The reason I bought this is because I am girl this product is super glittery and I love little. But this serum actually makes my hair soft and super shiny. I love it and use it every time I wash my hair a long with my heat protector. Also this is a leave in product so you just apply it to damp hair like I said after every time you wash your hair.
So that is all my favorite hair care products at the moment. I love reading post like this because I’ll either find products I’ve tried before and read others thoughts about it, or I’ll find a new product I maybe heard of but never tried and It will make me want to try that product out.
