October Beauty Favorites

October is almost over and I feel like it has flown by so quickly.  I have found a few products that are my favorite this month. So I decided to share them with you. I actually like these kinds of post because it helps me discover products I didn’t know about, or remember products that I probably just forgot existed. So here is my list of my October favorites.

Now that the season has changed it’s getting cooler and the air isn’t as humid. My skin actually gets dry very quickly especially on my face and around my nose. So, before I put on any kind of moisturizer  I like to use a scrub to get rid of the dry skin.  My favorite one to use right now is my Grown Alchemist Polishing Facial Exfoliant. Its smells like grapefruit and it works very well.

My face my lips get dry pretty much all the time and it doesn’t get better in the fall or winter. I don’t really wear make up during the week so I don’t usually have a lipstick or a lip gloss on my lips to keep them moisturized. So my favorite go to lip balm that I use all the time is my E.O.S organic stick lip balm in sweet mint.  This is such a great lip balm. Most of the time I use it right before I go to bed or right when I wake up. This makes my lips feel so nice and soft especially when I remember to use it a few times a day.

My nail polish choices change on the season just like everyone else but I have one color that is my go to. That is my Essie polish in the color in the color Bahama Mama. It’s a nice maroon/burgundy color that is pinky with the first coat, but with two coats it is a nice deep Fall color.

Like I mentioned my skin gets dry very quickly in the fall and so I am always using some kind of moisturizer. My favorite one I’m using lately is my Bath&Body ultra shea body cream. I’m not sure if this scent is from last year’s fall collection or from two years ago. The scent is Cut Of Warmth and it smells like vanilla chai and biscotti. It smells so good and makes me think of Fall. It also makes my skin feel so soft and I love to use it on my hands before bed.

I’m sure you know to keep your hair healthy you’re not supposed to wash your hair everyday. But since my hair gets very oily between shampoos this dry shampoo works great.  A lot of dry shampoo brands actually don’t work for me or make my hair feel greasier than before. I actually received this dry shampoo when I still had my BirchBox subscription. It is the R+Co Death Valley dry shampoo.  This product works so well in my hair and makes it feel clean and adds a little volume. Sadly, I am almost out out this since it is a sample size but I will be buying another.

This time of the year I feel like dark lips really look good. You can get away with wearing a dark lips on a daily basis. I have about four dark maroon/ burgandy liquid lipsticks. But I have not found a more expensive brand that stays on this well. I tried this liquid lipstick over this Summer in a different shade and I loved it. That is the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink in the color Voyager. It is such a pretty shade of maroon and perfect for the fall. The super stay in this name is very true. I wore this lipstick the other week and it stayed in place all day.  It did not budge, smudge, or fade it is actually a little difficult to take off.  If anyone is looking for a liquid lipstick that is not crazy expensive and works very well I would definitely recommend this one.

I don’t do my hair everyday because I am trying to keep as much heat off of it as possible. My hair when it air dries does curl naturally but if I want to add a little more curl I use the OGX Moroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream. At first I didn’t think it was going to work on my hair, but it did and I was impressed with how much curlier my hair looked. I know Ouai has a air dry foam that would work so much better and it is a product I want to try out. But it is a little more expensive than the OGX product. So if you’re not sure if a curl cream would work on your hair, or you’re not wanting to spend the money on a more expensive product this is definitely a product you could try out  before you make the bigger purchase.

Ta-Da, that is my October favorites! A few of these I use through the year and a few I usually use during the fall and winter time. Like the dry shampoo I use multiple times through the week, but my dark liquid lipstick I reserve that for this time of the year. I am going to try and keep up with these monthly favorites post. So I hope you enjoyed this and this type of blog post and since it is finally starting to feel like fall here Happy Fall.
