So, I know that we still have Thanksgiving coming up to celebrate, but I’m so ready for Christmas. My birthday is actually on Christmas day so when this time of the year comes around I am in a huge Christmas mood and I want to decorate. This week we put the tree up which I have been waiting to do since maybe the beginning of October. Faith, our puppy, was born in June so this is going to be her first Christmas and we are so excited.
One thing that has put me in the mood for Christmas this week, and this is so basic, but it’s the holiday cups that are now once again at Starbucks. I know that it’s laughable, but it really is the little things that will get you in the mood. Some of my friends keep telling me I can’t decorate before Thanksgiving. But, I have already seen about twenty people on Instagram with their trees up and houses decorated. So, I think that it is totally acceptable to decorate before Thanksgiving. It just really depends on what you prefer to decorate before or after Thanksgiving.
Last year we decorated a few days before Thanksgiving. This year we decorated a little earlier than we did last year. I haven’t really decorated my room yet but I am working on it. I’ve started my Christmas movie marathons too which is amazing. Some of my favorite Christmas movies to watch are Christmas Vacation, Christmas With The Kranks, and Home Alone one and two. I also love all the Santa Clause movies but I haven’t dived into watching those yet.
I think all of us know that there are certain types of songs or music in general that can get you in a specific mood. I have a playlist for pretty much each season. So my Christmas playlist has been played a lot lately. I also have one for the Fall time so that one has been played a lot too. But since I am really in a huge Christmas mood that is the playlist that is getting the most love right now. One song that has been stuck in my head a lot lately is Underneath The Tree by Kelly Clarkson. It is such a catchy song and has been stuck in my head lately.
Something else I love about this time of the year is that I feel like I can start baking cookies again. Not that you can’t bake through the year because you can. I just usually save my baking for this time of the year. I told my dad I was going to start baking again soon and he got so excited. I actually have a sugar cookie recipe that was my Nana’s that I make every year. These cookies are so good and they are definitely something to look forward to every year.
I could honestly go on and on and on about all the reasons why I love and am excited for Christmas. But I’m going to stop my self before this turns into a two page essay. I know that some people are not ready for Christmas or ready to decorate. Yes, again I know that we still have Thanksgiving and I am excited for that as well. But, I have gotten my self into such a Christmas mood and I am ready for it. I hope that you enjoyed this and it got you in to a mood for Christmas because it will be here before we know it.
