New Puppy Update #3

Oh my gosh Faith is nine months old now and it is time for another puppy update. I just keep telling her you’re nine months old Faith you’re almost a year old. Her birthday is on June twenty first so it’s almost here. She is so perfect amazing and adorable.

Faith’s personality is the funniest thing you will see. She has such a personality and she definitely believes she is the boss. The way she proves that she is the boss is when she is playing with her toys on the bed she will throw them off and look at you until you pick it up. We laugh so hard because she won’t even make a move to get the toy from the floor herself.

Little miss Faith has reached her full size and won’t be growing anymore. She is now eight and a half pounds and barely a foot long; she is so small. Before people actually meet Faith in person they don’t believe me when I tell them how small she is. She is so tiny they actually have to meet her to realize how small she is. But, the way she spreads her self out on my parents bed makes me believe she think she’s big dog.

We actually got our first dachshund, Mitzi, from a pet store in the mall when I was six. So Mitzi was definitely more sociable and more used to people. We got Faith from a breeder in North Carolina so she’s very good with us but she isn’t used to meeting new people. So whenever someone she doesn’t really know comes into the house she definitely gets worked up, starts barking and jumping around. When she’s barking at our guest it’s never a mean get out of my house bark. It’s more I don’t know who you are so I’m going to bark at you. Actually once she gets used to you she’ll be on your lap shortly and lick your face. She has never ever bitten anyone with the intent to hurt someone and she is the nicest little pup. But she does nibble because she’s puppy and puppy’s nibble and chew on things.

If you don’t have a dachshund then you might not know that dachshunds are a very very protective breed and she definitely knows who her family is and protects them. She will bark if anyone comes near any of us. Although she’s loud and barks, she is the nicest snuggliest little pup you will meet.

She loves to run and play but because the weather has been weird here lately she can’t always be outside for a long time so she has to play inside. I started playing tag with her in the house. Mostly just me tapping her head then running a way and her chasing me. It’s so funny she doesn’t care as long as I’m chasing and playing with her. She is so entertaining but she still is a puppy so she will run around for like thirty minutes then its nap time.

We absolutely love our new addition to the family so much. When Mitzi passed away in August it was horrible and heart breaking; she was our baby for fifteen years. We still miss and love Mitzi but Faith has been so amazing, adorable, and the perfect new fur baby for our family. She really is so precious and perfect we just love her so much. Its’s crazy to believe she will be a year in June because I feel like she was just that little three and half pound tiny puppy we brought home from North Carolina. She has become my best friend and cuddle buddy and I know I said this already but I love her so much. So there is the nine month puppy update and the next one will be when she is a year old on her birthday. So I hope you enjoyed learning more about Faith and enjoyed this post.
