Valentine’s Day Treats

It is Valentine’s day So Happy Valentines day everyone! Whether or not you have a Valentine this holiday all the snack and treats are still amazing. As we all know chocolate is a big part of Valentine’s Day. I am personally not a huge chocolate person. I definitely would choose something sweet or sour over chocolate any day. That doesn’t mean I don’t eat or drink anything chocolate though. I am a type one diabetic and have been since I was a little over a year old. Being a type one diabetic I have to take insulin to keep my blood sugar down. But, there are times when it does get low and I need something to bring it back up fast. So my favorite thing to have when my sugar is low is chocolate milk. But this post is not what this is about. It’s about all the yummy treats that come with Valentine’s Day.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

My brothers and mom love chocolate covered strawberries, but I think they love chocolate covered cherries more. Now you can go out and buy an expensive box of chocolate covered strawberries. Or, you can make them yourself which does save you some money. Really all you have to do is go out and buy some fresh strawberries and chocolate. To melt the chocolate I use the microwave just be because its easier. I know that there are other ways to melt chocolate like the double broiler method. Either way is perfectly fine and effective just as long as you do not burn the chocolate. Just dip the strawberries in the melted chocolate let it harden and you are good to go.

Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn

Now this is something I would and definitely have eaten before and something with chocolate I do like. Just like the strawberries you just need to buy some popcorn some chocolate melt the chocolate and drizzle it on the popcorn. You could also make it chocolate covered popcorn by just pouring the chocolate completely over it.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Chocolate covered pretzels have to be my favorite chocolate thing I will eat. I actually have made these a few times. Again these are just as simple as the rest and the same process. Just melt the chocolate and dip the pretzels in it. I usually use the bigger stick pretzels when I make them because they are thicker and won’t break in the chocolate like the tiny stick pretzels. You could also make these very cute with candy melts and Valentine’s Day sprinkles.

Chocolate Dipped Rice Crispy Treats

I personally love home made rice crispy treats the best. But, if you want to buy some instead that is up to you. But again you just melt the chocolate, dip the treats in it and you are good to go. You could also make these cute with candy melts and Valentine’s Day themed sprinkles. I mostly get my candy melts and holiday sprinkles from Michaels. But you should be able to find them at any grocery store as well. I just feel like Michales even Joanns or any craft store has the most holiday and baking decorations and a lot more options.

I know that these are a lot of chocolate themed items but it is the holiday of love and chocolate. This was mostly some ideas of some treats you can get your loved ones. I am a nanny so I am just making the kids some little goodie bags. I am not giving them sugar filled treats like these. But, these are some good little treats to give to your friends, family, and loved ones. So I hope you enjoyed and Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.
