Instagram Series Part 1

Choosing the Preset/ Editing Style

I start the year off with a saying that is so so basic it just makes me laugh and that is…. a New Year New Theme. So pretty much I can be very indecisive when it comes to creating a new theme. Because of that I have changed it up a lot and when I say a lot I really mean A LOT.

I use Lightroom room to edit. So I’ll find a cute preset for a few dollars on Etsy and I’ll use it a few weeks. Then I’ll find another one that looks better and change my theme again. Recently I bought two of Aspyn Ovards preset packs and found the preset I love so I don’t think I will be changing it for quite awhile.

But I do know that figuring out your style of editing or trying to find the perfect preset can be really frustrating. Because the goal is to be original and looking at instagram it always feels like it has all already been done. What I have realized is that yeah it’s true most editing styles have already been done. So what you have to do is put you’re own little twist on it and really make it you.

So if you do not already have an editing style of you’re own yet and you want to have a nice pretty looking instagram I have some suggestions. Here are a few Lightroom presets I have tried and love.

Aspyn Ovard Mobile Presets I’m using Beachy from this pack right now and I am really loving it.

Aspyn Ovard Instagram Mobile Presets I haven’t actually used these on my Instagram yet. But I have played around with them and they are pretty.

Trendsetter is an amazing pack with some very pretty instagram goals presets.

Personally I love how my Instagram looks right now and I believe I am going to keep it this way for awhile. I love how Aspyn’s Beachy preset makes and how it makes my photos look. The colors I mostly stick with on my Instagram are pinks/peaches, blues, white, and black. This preset really makes those pink and blue colors look amazing.

There are so many editing styles out there the options are really endless. Whether you want to go dark and moody, clean/ minimal, neon, pastel, or very very very colorful. You can honestly do whatever you want as long as you are happy with it and love it.

Create a preset, buy a preset, use Lightroom or VSCO it doesn’t matter as long as you are creating something you love. Because I know when I don’t love my theme I don’t really push myself to make a beautiful theme or create content. So I hope this helps you figure out you’re editing style. It’s not going to happen over night and it will probably take a few month, a few weeks, or even a year. But you will get there and you will create some amazing things. Happy Instagramming!
