AT HOME PHOTO IDEAS

Since we are stuck at home right now I’m sure we’re not feeling super creative or even motivated to create. Obviously, we are not free to go out to different locations to take photos. So a lot of our instagram photos are being taken at home right now. I know it’s hard to be creative when you’re stuck at home seeing the things in your house over and over again. I have been taking a lot of my photos right now in my bedroom.

I don’t have the cutest, prettiest, or most aesthetically pleasing bedroom, but I have made it work by trying some new things for photos. Honestly, I have been super lazy with posting on Instagram recently but since I do have these photos done and ready to go I am going get myself back on a better posting schedule. So since we all need a little photo inspiration right today’s post is all about phots ideas. Some I’ve tried and some I want to try.

BIRDS EYE VIEW

I think a lot of us know the birds eye view move for instagram photos especailly for flat lays. If you’re not familiar with this angle it is where you angle your phone or camera straight down over what ever your taking a photo of giving your photo that ‘Birds Eye View’ look. Now lets think of this on a bigger scale. I actually found the hack for this photo on Pinterest. So for this photo the first thing I had to do was get a piece of cardboard. Since like everyone else we have been ordering so much from amazon. We had plenty go boxes that I could get a piece of cardboard from.

Once I had my cardboard I folded it so it would hold my phone. Then I taped it to my ceiling above my bed. Once I felt like the cardboard was secure enough to hold my phone I placed my phone in it. Then I set up my photo on my bed got my self in the photo opened my camera app on my Apple watch. It acts as a remote for my iPhone and I started taking the photos. The first few did not turn out so great because my camera lens was dirty. But after I cleaned it and took a lot more photos I finally got one I loved.

STRIP THOSE SHEETS

Bedsheets can make great backdrops to any photo. Unfortunately, for me I don’t have a plane white bed sheet. So for this photo instead of using my bedsheets I used my high pink quilt. Hanging this quilt up was not as difficult as I thought it was going to be. I did hang it up in front of my closet so I took some hangers with clips on them and just hung it up. I knew I wanted this photo to look very Spring like. So I put on my favorite dress, sat down on my piano bench that I moved in to my room for this photo. Then added this big fake sunflower that I have and then this photo was born.

FACE MASK

I have seen a ton of cute face mask photos on Pinterest so I knew I wanted to try one. I knew this photo had to seem super relaxed since it was a face mask pampering kind of photo. I did put my hair in a bun but since my hair is shorter it’s not a super full or thick bun but I think it turned out ok. Next, for the outfit I put on one of my favorite pink tops that says Stupid Cupid. I paired it with my under armor running shorts so I wasn’t super dressed up. I put my iPhone on my phone tripod and angled it so the I could be seen in the mirror with out the tripod in the photo. It can be difficult to take cute face mask photos but I just kept taking them until I got a cute one I liked.

PHOTO WITHIN THE PHOTO

If you do have a cute space in your room that is in your room or home that you would like to showcase then do it. For me it is my bed and the wall my bed sits on. Like I said my room is not the cutest, prettiest, or most aesthetically pleasing room, but I have worked on making the area around my bed cute knowing it could be used for photos. For this photo I wanted to showcase my pin board on my wall by getting a ‘candid’ photo of my placing a picture on the pin board. This photo actually took some time to take. I again wore one of my favorite dresses added a hat because my hair was dirty and needed to be washed.

I angled my body so my face couldn’t be seen since I wasn’t wearing any make up. Then I started taking the photos. This one did take awhile to take because while taking this photo the lighting kept changing. Since I do use natural lighting for my photos I had to wait the lighting was good again. But, after waiting awhile I finally got a good photo and I love it.

PETS

Pets are great for photos. I post a lot of photos of Faith by herself but I haven’t posted a lot with her. I knew I wanted and needed a new photo with her so I had to take one. This photo actually took two days for me because on the first day I tried taking it Faith was a little grouchy. So I did have to try for a second time the next day. That time she was in a better mood and let me take photos with her. I love her and I am always taking pictures of her because she’s so cute and photogenic. I got the photo and I love it so so much especially since my puppy is in it.

These are few photos I have taken recently and I love them. A lot of my photo ideas do come from Pinterest. Pinterest is a great place for photo inspiriation. So if you’re ever feeling unmotivated to create then head over to Pinterest because you will defiantly get inspired there. I hope you enjoyed this post and it motivates you to create some awesome content. Happy Sunday Everybody.
